Erin
Harris and Teddy Roosevelt “aka Teddy”
Starting
at age 5, Erin Harris grew up riding family owned quarter
horse, JPO Joe. Showing local level hunters and equitation
early on, Erin later attended Southern Illinois University
where she joined the schools IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show
Association) equestrian team. Riding all 4 years of college,
Erin made it to the Zone 4 finals in South Carolina twice.
After
school Erin took a hiatus from riding and moved to Arizona.
After two years, she realized how much she missed her passion
and moved to Boise, Idaho where she got back into horses and
found her current partner Teddy Roosevelt “aka Teddy”.
After
several months of getting to know one another, Erin and Teddy
started showing in the local 2’ hunters, quickly moving
up to the higher equitation classes. After one great summer
of showing the pair moved to Florida where they began training
with Erin’s father, Fred Harris.
Living
in Tampa, Erin began showing Teddy in the local 2’3”
jumpers where they advanced rapidly, ending up year-end champion
for the High Schooling Jumpers 3’6”-3’9”
Division, 2002. Their time had come; Erin and Teddy started
competing in rated shows.
Today,
this dynamic duo, compete in the Adult Jumper division and
continue to add to their trophy case. 2003 Year end reserve
